Summer Camps, Hastings Point
August 24th, 2010Divers await arrival of Grey Nurse Sharks
April 27th, 2010It’s almost that time again when divers get a chance to dive with the dangerously appearing but oh so timid GNS.
Every year around winter GNS migrate up the coast as our waters cool down allowing divers to enjoy these awesome creatures.
Now on the endangered species list for South – East Australia we must be mindful not to harm the once thought of man eaters
no more. Both Cook Is. and Nine mile of the coast of Tweed are great spots to witness these toothy sharks.

Malfunction
March 29th, 2010The Malfunction is upon as once again with more events and excitement than ever before. After 27 years the iconic surfing
event still rages on. This year we introduce SUP (stand up paddle boarding) to the competition. It’s 5 days of competition
and entertainment down at Kingscliff. See you there.
Sea Lizards
March 24th, 2010Whilst snorkeling at Hastings Point, Northern NSW we found this amazing nudibranch called a ‘Sea Lizard’.
It follows the blue bottles in from sea and actually digests them! They are one of the most amazing sea creatures I have
come across.

Palau – This is why we dive
March 12th, 2010Join Watersports Guru and travel to one of the greatest dive sites on the planet. Palau.
Palau’s warm tropical waters are legendary amongst divers for their dramatic sheer walls rising from the depths to within inches of the surface and capped with thriving coral reefs. Palau is home to over 1,300 species of fish and more than 700 species of coral.
World renowned for its’ marine bio-diversity and abundance of large pelagic animals, Palau also offers avid wreck divers one of Micronesia’s largest collections of WWII shipwrecks.
From current swept plateaus to sheltered coral gardens, Palau offers a wonderful range of diving for every level of interest and skill.
The majority of diving in Palau is drift diving along the walls, plateaus and coral gardens of the outer reef, with the dive boat following along from the surface to meet you upon ascent.
Experience the sites that make Palau one of the top dive destinations in the world: the sharks of Blue Comer, the manta rays of Devilfish City and German Channel, and the coral reefs and stunning drop offs teeming with marine life.

Clean-up Australia Day (Hastings Point)
March 7th, 2010It’s time to pick-up what we put down. Every year Australians finally get an excuse to clean up our act by putting our litter in the bin. Sounds silly we need an excuse but at least we do it!
This year Watersports Guru is heading to Hastings Point (Northern NSW) to help out the adventure education museum to clean up the Headland and Rocky Shore.
It’s early but at least we get to watch the sunrise. If you would like to help please meet us at the top of the headland at 5.30 qld time. Bring your gloves, rubbish bad and snorkel gear!
See you there…
